Carole Bennett, MA has been a counselor for many years in the field of substance abuse.

Having experienced substance abuse first hand with her own loved ones, she
understands the challenges, fears and frustrations of witnessing one slowly kill
themselves with alcohol, drugs or both; which can result in standing by helplessly
not knowing where to turn or what to do.

Through her vast experience working with the addict/alcoholic and their friends and/or family, Carole quickly came to realize that other than Al-anon, those loved ones have limited avenues open to them for specific, drug related counseling. Carole specializes in working with the clients through actual dialogue and real life scenarios that are tailored made to your situation. Carole received her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch
University and completed her internship at the Salvation Army Adult
Rehabilitation Center in Santa Barbara, California. Soon after, Carole was hired
there as head counselor and subsequently founded her own private practice
Family Recovery Solutions.

Today, in conjunction with her private practice, Carole works as an on-call treatment counselor for The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction for Santa Barbara County. Carole is on the data base for the Hazelden Recovery Centers and is on the Psychology Today website.

Substance abuse is a family problem. Whether the alcoholic/addict admits to
their addiction or not; it is imperative that the family or friends learn how to live
and love them while their own respect and dignity stay in tact.
Carole is writing a book entitled: THE FAMILY SUBSTANCE ABUSE
HANDBOOK – A GUIDE FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE ALCOHOLIC/ADDICT.
